This excursion will take you to different parts of Tallinn. You will pass Kadriorg park, The Residence of the President, Ms Kersti Kaljulaid, and The KUMU Art Museum. The famous seacoast line, Pirita convent and the St Brigitta Monastery – one of the largest in Northern Europe. On the way to Tallinn old town you will make a stop at the Song Festival grounds. It is a large outdoor arena that has been the venue for Estonia’s main national cultural festivals.

Tallinn old town tour will take you through the upper part of the old town and it’s viewing platform where you can have a view of not only the Old Town, but also the rest of the city. The Parliament building, Stenbock House, a neo-classical building that now houses the Government of Estonia. In the lower part of Old Town, in St Nicholas’ Church you’ll be able to see the “Death of Dance” (Danse Macabre) by Bernt Notke, defenately the most internationally know medieval piece of art in Estonia. Walk on cobble-stone streets and Town Hall Square will give you a real medieval feeling as Tallinn’s Old Town is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The tour ends with a dinner at the medieval restaurant Olde Hansa.

Lahemaa National Park

The Lahemaa National Park, located about one-hour drive from Tallinn, is the biggest nature protection area in Estonia, where you can see several typical Estonian landscapes – forests, wetlands, lakes and rivers with lots of wild life and interesting cultural variety: restored old manors of landlords and small fisherman villages at the seaside. You will explore the national park, including a bog hike, Käsmu captain’s village, Vihula and Palmse Manor and Altja fishing village.
Please wear comfortable shoes as the tour includes some walking in the nature.

KUMU Art Museum

The KUMU Art Museum houses a permanent exhibition of the classics of the Estonian art from the beginning of the 18th century until re-independence as well as other special exhibitions.

The rooms of permanent exhibition are filled with the early classics of Estonian art from the 18th century until the end of the Second World War. As the exhibition moves from one topic to another – from a work of an anonymous Baltic-German portrait artist to Johann Köler, Kristjan Raud and Konrad Mägi, and on to the Group of Estonian Artists, Pallas School – a visitor can also detect cultural processes characteristic to Western Europe.

The museum is located on the limestone bank of Lasnamägi next to the Kadriorg Park. The office of the President of the Republic of Estonia lies in the vicinity of the art museum.
